Computers scale. That’s hardware which is a lot more time consuming to scale that software. Software, you can scale, duplicate, reuse and resell a million times over by the simple weight of your finger in your crisp Mac keyboard. Humans, that is different story. We don’t scale.
That was until social media was discovered or rediscovered. Social Media offers you the possibility to scale. As one person you can now reach millions of people at once and at a very low cost. This human scalability factor is unprecedented. It was reserved for the Marco Polos and Cleopatras of history but today because of social media you can scale at a very low cost and with high efficiency.
Human scalability has its failures but its here and will change the social landscape as we know it.

So true – one of the powers of digital media is as a leveler. But my question is: Once a person (or brand) grows in popularity, how can social media efforts be scaled in a way that still retains the human aspect? I know some will outsource their efforts, but doesn’t that take away from the personal interaction?
I agree… but you cannot expect the same personal interaction from Gary V (@garyvee) that you can expect from an actual business acquaintance. Personal objectives are very different regardless of what the perception might be.
